Windows 10 goes out of support today. My fave useless fact about w10 is that the iconic blue desktop background is a *photograph* - not CGI.

I am covering EVERY First Person Shooter EVER made in Japan.

From 1985 to 2025, that's over 40 years and 70 games of gaming history.

This was without a doubt the most ambitious video I've ever made.

I came into work and was like, 'Huh, that's a really cool lock screen' and now reading this thread I'm like 'WOW that's a really cool fuckin lock screen.'
and finally, we changed the lock screens of our workstations to the following image - which was also rendered on a real PS1 (screenshot from emulator though for simplicity), with a hacked BIOS to display the Guerrilla logo in PS1 colours.

We've acquired the historic game magazine Computer Entertainer.

As in, we got the rights. We own the magazine. And we're putting it into the Creative Commons for anyone to use for free.

i miss the early internet. people were like “you gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.” and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.

One thing that definitely won't happen is Konami teaming up with Nintendo for a 2D crossover where Samus fights Dracula called Metroid Vania.

Very cool bundle for a great cause!
ALRIGHT KIDS. FINAL 24 HOURS. Let's do it! Last chance to get $8k worth of games for $10 while making money for survivors of the Southern California wildfires!
There are TWO DAYS left to get the California Fire Relief bundle. I would really love for the bundle to reach $350,000 by then. Please share widely, anywhere you can, and let's make these last two days count!! It's $8,183 worth of games+stuff (like Tunic!) for $10! itch.io/b/2863/calif...

Have you ever seen a Sega of America refurb sticker? Now you have!

This came with a Nomad I bought second-hand so I’m not sure if the sticker was originally on the console or if it was always on the manual, but I like the implication that the manual was ‘reconditioned’ and ‘100% tested’ by SoA.

I avoided Fortnite for ages, but they have Miku, Godzilla, AND Anamanaguchi right now…

Anyway Fortnite is pretty fun.
Let my first BlueSky post be a #Fortnite one.

Got an untested Amiga to work on and… I can’t tell you the last time I saw a Commodore with intact warranty seals. Especially an Amiga!

I’ll probably take these off with hot air and put them somewhere special as a souvenir.

Really great thread on what it was like to develop games on the psp - especially ports, which took up a lot of the early psp library and were complex to make work. Once full original psp dev took off the console shined.
I shipped a PSP launch title and several other PSP games, and it was a pretty interesting beast. Internally it was impressive--we were porting PS2 games to this thing and (with a lot of effort) making them work. But there were big gaps in the capability of the device and customer expectations.
I still remember holding the PlayStation Portable for the first time and being totally blown away. It really felt like a device from the future, one gadget for all your portable entertainment needs. So… what happened? ravi64.com/playstation-...

Making another Christmas-y soldering kit! This one is much nicer than the last one, and I was excited to see some SMD parts! I was almost disappointed that the microcontroller came pre-installed. :P

Recently I’ve been making a few of these soldering-ornament-kit-things you can find online. They’re festive, make a fun personal gift, and (perhaps most importantly) they’re a good excuse to practice soldering. I used this one to try a new lead-free solder and it turned out okay!
