My kids got me one of those weird AMD BC-250 (aka PS5 APU) single board computers for Xmas. Can’t wait to play with this! It’s so odd, I love it.

Interesting to see that 'Shadows of the Wind' prototype in the Sega Channel documentary. When I joined Images/Climax in the early '90s I played that demo and wrote some test music for it, but didn't get around to putting them onto the Genesis in the end. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh7s...

Playing my Global Communication vinyl boxset while writing copy for the PicoIDE Crowd Supply campaign, starting with Pentamerous Metamorphosis. What a masterpiece. The boxset is stupid expensive on Discogs now, but I’ve been in a “enjoy the things you have instead of being precious about them” mood

Just smashed my previous personal best in Tetris DX with 1,410,380. I got back into it thanks to @mousebitelabs.bsky.social’s gaming club. This would have been good enough for the WR for a brief moment of time in 2007 😅

Who coined "Metroidvania"? It wasn't @jparish.bsky.social, and he'll be the first to tell you. Besides, there are far more interesting questions, like: How did it spread? Evolve? And what's it got to do with rickrolling?

Watch til the end for a post-credits sting.

Reminiscing about the first CD I burned in 1997, like normal people do
The first disc I burned with it, a rip of Wipeout XL for PS1 on a Verbatim blue azo dye disc, still reads fine in the modded PS1 I still have. The authoring program was super clunky and I got the audio tracks out of order so when it says it’s playing Firestarter it actually plays We Have Explosive

Finally cleared away enough junk in my basement lair to make the DOS/SGI and Amiga corners usable again. I've been enjoying playing multichannel modules in Cubic Player on the PC and some Amiga musicdisks that happen to run on on my NTSC Amiga 1000

it's messed up how "there existed a fully functional Michael Jordan-based web browser for Sega Genesis" is just a tiny little fraction of this momentous release. Outstanding work.

Got a new answering machine. The Western Electric model 1-B from 1955. Still had the original outgoing announcement. Sadly no incoming messages though. Its all tube and has a tone wheel like a B-3 organ for the beep.

Finally got the #TinyTapeout 8 ASIC with a couple of my designs on it.

When Efabless shut down we thought these chips were lost, but Tiny Tapeout managed to get hold of them and ship them out!

This design calculates the Mandelbrot fractal, racing the beam style. It’s clocked at 100MHz.
