It’s always struck me how much BETTER Nintendo is at presenting their live broadcasts. Xbox Showcase and PS State of Play are so dull in comparison. And hey, since I know TV, I thought it was worth exploring why. ravi64.com/secret-trick...

In Donkey Kong 64, the Giant Spider miniboss can only be fought once. Modifying the game to fight it a second time makes it unceremoniously explode. While this appears to be a glitch, examining the code reveals it was actually deliberately added for the developers' own amusement.

The AI bubble RAM crisis is caused for non-existent problems by non-existent money for a non-existent infrastructure to meet non-existent demand to make non-existent business and will utterly destroy real business based on real demand and real infrastructure built with real money for real problems.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

This is particularly hilarious given all the AI boosterism around "it will let people without the technical skills realize the beauty of their ideas"
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

anyone who speaks or listens. for a living knows the difference between rhetorically clearing your throat and incoherence, and that in a conversational setting, the first is not just unremarkable but normal, but I guess we’re in for another round of “look at this vapid girl”
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

I do t even know how to explain this, but I’m watching clips of early game of thrones with a Chinese voiceover and as Martell and the mountain fight, it just starts talking about how the mountain is taller than Yao Ming

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

Wirtz is world class. He was when we signed him and that’s not changing anytime soon.
