Yeah, I think that might have been the first major IP revival? (I hate that I used those words.) So a Ghostbusters sequel really felt impossible, and yet here it was... and I'm playing it!!!

(I could be wrong, but I also think we hadn't quite entered the era of lots of long-dormant movie franchises getting sequels yet? Crystal Skull was the previous year and was notable for being one of the longest gaps between entries, iirc?)

Forgot to say, I LOVED the Ghostbusters piece. I am very much in the same boat as a fan and was skeptical at first, but that game is Ghostbusters III to me. It's a proper delight!

Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.
