A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

The world has focused on Zohran Mamdani, for VERY good reason. 🙌🏼
But don’t forget- he’s not the only one.👊🏼
Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago is on 🔥….
Much like Mamdani, he is focused on the right thing- affordability.
And fighting ICE.
We love him 💙 &

Important
At least once every day I think about the humanity I am losing in a system built on the dehumanization of marginalized people. What do I lose, what changes about me, how do my own perceptions change, without me even realizing it?

I’m doing research for a project and found out about the “don’t buy where you can’t work” movement during the depression, where Black people boycotted and picketed places that wouldn’t hire us. Shout out to everyone who’s not going back to Target!

What did people do before SNAP?”

They died.

Healthcare, vaccines, disability support, education & food assistance are vital to our survival.

They’re why the average lifespan isn’t 35 anymore

The mark of a good & decent society is whether it sees the value in helping others.

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

I'm for this #FoodBankChallenge!!! Who else is?
#FoodBankChallenge

Can we get to $5000 to start? With SNAP running out in Nov if the shutdown continues, more folks will be turning to food banks - which are already struggling since the administration cut $500 MILLION in deliveries back in the spring.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.
