This isn’t a scandal. It is a story about a vast multi-billion euro redistribution system working well, with inevitable, inconsequential, rounding errors at the margins.

This is spot on.
You know the quote from David Barnhart about the so-called "unborn" being an easy group to advocate for? (It's posted below it because it's still relevant.)

Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

Sorry about the massive delays. Due to the hot weather there’s a hosepipe ban, so we’re having to wash Ryanair passengers by hand.

The internet feels like it's shrinking a lot. Twitter and Facebook feel dead, Bluesky threatens a weird privacy invasion, more and more websites demand that I watch ads or pay, neither of which always appeals. It's strange days. Strange ends of days, in some ways.

We're seeing a lot of these around Dublin lately. It signifies two things:

1. Less protection for people cycling
2. Evidence that the wand that was there didn't provide much protection anyway.

Plastic wands are so 2020 - time for something more permanent @dublincitycouncil.bsky.social!

@irishrail.bsky.social This!! Please!!
All the seats in the next carriage are unreserved so I move there to get a forward facing seat with a table. The tables have charging ports and even wireless charging for your phone. Light above seat makes reservations very clear: reserved now (red), reserved later (orange), available (green)
