it's completely insane to me that this deal was voted through without the investor's name being disclosed. I know why the investor doesn't want their name disclosed, I just don't get why anyone went along with it

I know you're all sick of me saying this, but it needs to be repeated until they are gone.

FFG only see neoliberalism & austerity as the way to run the country.

They have abandoned the responsibility of investing in infra for future prosperity or climate, in favour of market greed.

They've done it again, they've cut more rail projects. The most criminal one for me is cancelling the reopening of the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare line. On the left is the All-island Rail Review published by the last government and on the right is the plan published today.

There's also huge investment planned for Rosslare Europort which really should be coupled with investment in both passenger and freight rail in the area.

Kneecap waving a flag thrown onto the stage at a gig is terrorism, heavily reported in Britain and debated in the Commons.

Loyalists putting * live pipe bombs * on people's cars to terrorise a sport club into shutting down is not terrorism, and ignored in Britain.

And he'll only do 18 months.

Pretty sure we got stitched up by FG here - extended nitrates derogation (good for wealthy dairy farmers) in exchange for CETA ratification (bad for every other kind of farmer). Science had nothing to do with it.
"Dr Elaine McGoff, head of advocacy with An Taisce, said decisions like this are supposed to be based on science, & the evidence clearly shows Ireland has a “serious water pollution problem that isn’t getting any better"

Judge Kerr said he accepted that this was not a terrorist case but that the pipe bombs had been left to "cause fear and distress and in order to achieve a sectarian aim of stopping the GAA using public pitches".

Pipe bombs not terrorism, holding signs in support of Palestine Action however, is.

America is different, of course, but my experience of meeting other parents of kids with DS is that their position on the right to choose doesn't change after having their perfect kid.

What does change, however, are opinions on how prenatal screening options are presented to them. Fuck eugenics!
And for those wondering, A LOT of pro-life Christians have kids with Down Syndrome and say their decision to not abort made them opposed to abortion. (Though there are also plenty of pro-choice parents of disabilities and plenty of people with disabilities are pro-choice).

You can't actually cap migration into Ireland without:

1. Dismantling the Common Travel Area
2. Leaving the EU
3. Placing a hard border between the Republic and the North

This "population growth" argument the self-declared sensible people have come up with is in reality really extreme
