I am not a coder but I get the feeling that today there are a lot of people in Software who are only there to create perpetual money machines, sell data or pull fillings, and by contrast a lot of the technology surge that brought us to the 2000's was made by people who genuinely love to make things.

I have said this before but just doing my best to be sincere/friendly online has done more for my career than any amount of work or talent or irl networking tbh. I got both my full-time jobs and most of my Kickstarter work thanks to people I met on twitter and I didn't really have a "brand" account
networking is an incredibly important part of maintaining a professional presence in your creative industry, but it can be daunting. have you tried being completely fucking ridiculous online
