A lot of takes on what's different about 2020 vs. 2025, but it's pretty simple. Most at ICE are peaceful protest liberals, not radicals and antifa. So fash are taking root unchallenged, no one knows how to front line or fight, many have no PPE. Many in 2020 radicalized in weeks. Not so much now.
