I have watched countless sweeps happen and it's nothing short of cruel. Moving money to where it actually helps people is good
So apparently the sky is falling because Councilor Morillo wants to move $4.3 million from the camp sweeps budget to… wait for it… housing, food, and community support.

Here’s the deal: Portland spends about $17 million a year on the “Impact Reduction Program.”

As a scientist working to promote health equity in the Deep South, I do not use BSky much b/c they have blocked access to Mississippi.

They disagree with a Mississippi age verification law (me too) but have failed to note any strategy to counter the law, increase access, or acknowledge they care.

Tonight was the inaugural ride of our new home buyout program. We connect with vendors too scared to be out, and we purchase from them at home. Tonight we bought 250 tamales, divided into 3 teams to deliver all over the city to folks on the street, Love Fridges, and a youth shelter.
