It's like watching someone who composed symphonies decide to only make ringtones.

The Case for Blogging in the Ruins
In 1751, Denis Diderot began publishing his Encyclopédie, a project that would eventually span 28 volumes and take more than two decades to complete. The French government banned it twice. The Catholic Church condemned it, Diderot's collaborators abandoned him, his publisher secretly censored entries behind his back, and he worked

Are paying attention @tinakotek.bsky.social ? This is how you win. But you did the opposite--went out of your way to prevent Oregonians from implementing a voted-upon ballot measure for preschool for all.

Expect to get primaried hard.
Mamdani: "The cost of childcare will no longer discourage young adults from starting a family, because we will deliver universal childcare for the many by taxing the wealthiest few"

Bring back preschool for all you heartless Grinch. BTW, I pay those Portland taxes happily because I am not a neoliberal monster asking to get primaried.
Cutting property taxes for Oregonians affected by wildfires. Canceling planned freeway tolls. Pausing local new taxes in the Portland area. We have to keep going to make life more affordable for Oregonians.

I don’t know how it works at the New York Times, but my editors at The Guardian would never let me publish this if they knew that I was one of the elites who spent time with Epstein. And if I published it without telling them, I would be out of a job.

At last, a common cartoon villain we can all agree on: big tech.
"DeSantis argued that Big Tech cos are rushing to build data centers that ..make electricity more expensive, water more scarce and local quality of life worse — in exchange for AI products that are intrusive, unsafe for children or put people out of work." subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...
E&E News: DeSantis calls for restricting data centers
The Florida Republican has emerged as one of few governors to criticize an industry that's investing billions in states, as local concern grows over rising electricity costs.

Tech sovereignty isn’t about swapping US hyperscalers for local monopolies, writes David Eaves. That just recreates dependency. Real agency comes from interoperability, de facto standards, and procurement that makes switching cloud providers simple, says Eaves.

Strategic standardization of cloud infrastructure backed by procurement power and market forces is the right way to tame the hyperscalers, writes David Eaves.
