I spent a decade arguing with antivaxxers on X. Showing them papers. Explaining their errors. Correcting their disinformation.

I've done my bit for "dialogue with people I disagree with".

I'm here to hang out with people I like. For everyone else, I have no guilt about using the block button.
"Reckless" is a chickenshit way to spell "illegal."

This is like Jaws 2 if the population of Amity Island had re-elected the damn shark.
Trump's got a taste for blood.
Trump on Sheinbaum: "The cartels are running Mexico. She's not running Mexico. We could be politically correct & nice and say, 'Oh, yes, she is.' No no. And I've asked her number times, 'Would you like us to take out the cartels?' ... something is gonna have to be done with Mexico."

The bigger, much more important question here is: if we take Keir Starmer at his word, why does he not believe he has been provided with the facts by the Secret Intelligence Service, who will surely have briefed him?

Secondarily: this indicates the US did not inform its allies in advance.
Keir Starmer says he wants to establish facts by *watching Donald Trumps press conference.*

People said giving him a second state visit was a genius move of strategy - really seems to have paid off.

Special relationship - alive and kicking.

guys, "the judges at the ICC are being sanctioned by the USA and can't access their iphones or bank accounts" and "why aren't any countries banning twitter or prosecuting elon musk for owning a site that manufactures CSAM" stories are the same story

Anyway, any Brit wishing to escape all the international news today can settle down with BBC2 at 3.20pm, when "The Eagle Has Landed" is showing. It's a film about a group of soldiers attempting to kidnap another country's head of state.

I'm not kidding. It really is on today.

This bears repeating: there are realpolitik reasons for condemning this operation. @badsocialism.bsky.social highlights a particularly British one, but in the European context, of course, it is vital to denounce the US for doing what Putin has been trying to do in Ukraine.
Britain needs to condemn this for the obvious legal and moral reasons but at a strategic level you really don't want to accept anything that would legitimise another Argentinian push on the Falklands

100% seriously, European leaders and Commission officials should plan on the basis that the US might do this to them too, about Greenland, about tech regulation, about “Christian values”, about “free speech”, whatever.
Fucking hell.

Think the referance to US Law Enforcement here is quite telling as well: a huge extension of how far the US feels its laws reach.

Apparently its fine to now attack and kidnap a head of state because of 'US law'. Fucking hell.

Good Morning and welcome to another episode of regime change by the USA. The US seems to be militarily trying to get rid of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro right now. There are reports of US ground forces in action. However, watch the Cubans too. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

What do you mean, "including military facilities," CBS? Why do you suggest that the military facilities targeted were of secondary importance to the *civilian* sites and infrastructure struck? And if this is a direct quote, why has no one challenged its provider? www.cbsnews.com/live-updates...
U.S. launches military strikes on Venezuela as Trump escalates pressure on Maduro regime, sources say
Trump ordered strikes on sites inside Venezuela, including military facilities, U.S. officials told CBS News, ratcheting up pressure on President Nicolás Maduro.

It is particularly grim that the algorithms are out to infantilise us at the same time as Grok is out to sexualise infants.
Watched a video about the Nuremberg trials yesterday and, so that Youtube wouldn't demonetise them, the video's host said "using a cyanide capsule, Herman Goerring unalived himself".

Nigel Farage announces that the core support – and core supporters – for Reform are racist.

Obviously, we all knew that, but it's nice to have it officially confirmed. And every media outlet should be hammering this point home – as should Labour.

And thus, the entire system of measurements is destroyed. There is no area the size of Wales. Nothing is as long as a blue whale, or a double-decker bus, or a football field; nothing is as tall as a giraffe.

A large boulder is, however, the size of a small boulder.
First superb conspiracy theory of 2026 overheard in the street! I love this. I feel it sets the tone for a superb year:

“Wales is fake.”

This ICE post is a reference to a Rhodesian Army recruiting poster ("Be A Man Among Men") that's very popular with white supremacists.

My hot take: were it in my power to make it so, I would permit the existence of billionaires - but *only* up to 1 billion. Anything you make after that goes straight to social care programmes. The maximum wealth any person could have, or ever have, is 1 billion.
Obscene wealth is obscene greed.
No one person needs so much money when far too many people have so little. Increase taxes for the greedy, selfish narcissists and ban the tax dodging loopholes.
The world’s 500 richest people have total wealth of $11.9tn.

Their wealth up by $2.2tn in 2025. 8 billionaires accounting for a 25% of the gains.

No one becomes this rich by working.

They fund right-wing parties, oppose worker/human rights, cause more pollution than normal people.
