@wespenvriend.nl @aglaia.bsky.social Help! Er zit een wespennest onder het fundament van het huis. We hadden er geen last van. Maar nu ineens zit de gang vol met wespen die een versufte indruk maken. Wat te doen? Een vlammenwerper heb ik niet.

Finished Jan Meyers’ biography of Dutch fascist leader Anton Mussert. He’s portrayed as a petty-bourgeois nationalist who envisioned a fascist Dutch state alongside Hitler’s Germany. The book details his rivalry with the SS, who pushed for full annexation by the Reich.

Got myself a military band. These old Elastolin toy soldiers were very popular in the Third Reich. They are made from a composite of sawdust and resin around a metal frame. The toys were an integral part of Nazi propaganda and helped German children get used to the idea of war.

On this day in 1975, the Dutch government chose the F-16 Fighting Falcon to be the successor of the F-104 Starfighter. What a great plane it would prove to be. It served the Netherlands for more than 40 years and now protects the free skies over Ukraine.🇳🇱🇺🇦
