I am a person who exists.

(She/they)
I will continue topping my bowls with shatter, and watching non-English media until morale improves.

Now watching: The Empress & shoveling mac n' cheese down my gullet.

Huge thanks to my kind & handsome husband for making me lunch. Comfort food & companionship makes everything a lot less terrible.

“I have this [unpopular] hot take: that post-Omicron variants are more dangerous than previous variants... I'm not talking about…acute respiratory failure. I'm talking about cumulative damage to your health. Because the more times you catch…Covid… the more hits you get—it's a hit to your system…”

“They keep telling us it's milder. Maybe in terms of acute disease…because it does have a weaker tropism for the lungs. So it doesn't attack the lungs as much as previous variants, but unfortunately it attacks the blood vessels just as much, and it attacks the brain maybe even more than before…”

🚨Must read/listen: “After COVID infection, the immune dysfunction usually…lasts a few months, & then it does begin to recover. But…people are often catching COVID more than once a year. And that would keep you in a permanent state of immune dysfunction…because you just keep adding infections…”

This spica wrist and thumb sprint is brutal.

Gonna be posting less and watching more foreign (non-English) films to try and hold my attention, and keep me from using my right hand.

Any recommendations?

Strongly disagree. A key piece of information here is that we're talking about non-violent offenders charged with simple possession in Chicago. These are crimes without victims that can derail someone's life but, more importantly, they're also the exclusive result of Chicago's racist policing.

idk what a "restorative practice conference" is but it sure doesn't sound like restorative justice

Maybe if we hadn't sold out the vulnerable to COVID, we wouldn't be so far down this dark path.

Just saying... As a disabled person who was thrown under the bus "for the economy."

How's that economy treating y'all?
The concentration camps will not only be for immigrants, documented or otherwise. They already aren't.

They won't only be for brown and Black people.

The targets will keep expanding. It will not end.

The only way it will is if we stop it. Both in and out of the system. There is no other way.

It’s actually insane how judgmental people feel comfortable being towards someone they don’t know who posted something they barely read. People are just desperately scrolling until they finally find someone they can feel superior to, which is really sad.

So... Union negotiations must be going well.

I randomly looked at houses for sale yesterday and I found my dream home.

It's modest - about the same size as our current house, but with a better layout, and a GARAGE.

Best of all: it's across the street from a community garden, and down the street from an ALPACA FARM 🤩.

Went to a wedding reception and spent pretty much all of it outside on the patio in the cold, but we got to see old friends and that was nice.

Only 2 others were wearing masks inside. Sadly, that didn't include my friends who have long covid.

It was crowded & stuffy inside. I hope they'll be OK.
