Oh wow. Our college president keeps sending out threatening emails. They're couched in "we're a community" and "face reality" business speak, but I know a threat when I read one.

So... Union negotiations must be going well.

I randomly looked at houses for sale yesterday and I found my dream home.

It's modest - about the same size as our current house, but with a better layout, and a GARAGE.

Best of all: it's across the street from a community garden, and down the street from an ALPACA FARM 🤩.

Maybe one day I won't be so tired.
Still, I'm just happy to be here ☺️!

It’s a cull.

It happened again.

This time it's @dailykos.com who is publishing a plagiarized AI-generated slop version of my work, brazenly right down to the title, "A Field Guide to Japanese Yokai" which is lifted directly from my book "The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons: A Field Guide to Japanese Yokai."

Went to a wedding reception and spent pretty much all of it outside on the patio in the cold, but we got to see old friends and that was nice.

Only 2 others were wearing masks inside. Sadly, that didn't include my friends who have long covid.

It was crowded & stuffy inside. I hope they'll be OK.

Thank you. My lord. Too many rubes (or worse, people playing rube) ignoring this shit. It's no different than your "AI microwave" that for some reason needs to be attached to your wifi. Everything is selling/using your data and giving you zippo in return.

In my young adulthood I was so worried about not being able to grow roots because my family moved me around all the time.

Now I'm 42 & I've been living in PDX for 19 years. I've been happily married for 10. As it turns out, I have staying power & people who love me.

Happy Valentine's Day ❤️.

Hello everyone! I am working on something and could use your help. If you pay for Claude code, please type npx ccusage@latest into your terminal and send me a screenshot of your usage from the last month, along with your level of subscription ($20/100/200). I would be so grateful!

Where the heck do you get good spanikopita (to go) in PDX?

I am dying for a huge ol' piece of that flaky spinache pastry. Phyllo! Spinache! Feta! What can go wrong?

I had a dream last night that I was building houses for homeless young adults. There wasn't any money or bureaucracy involved - it was like a video game.

We found space nobody was using, cut down a tree from my home base, and used the wood to make cute little free houses in walkable neighborhoods.

OMG I just realized I haven't put on makeup in a LONG time and my wrist is bad. I hope I can still manage eyeliner later tonight.

At least I am giving myself a few hours to get ready. I'm gonna need it!
I've got just over five hours to digest my lunch burrito, put away laundry, take a shower, and see if any of my nice clothes still fit before I go to my friends' wedding tonight.

Ahhh!

this is why i am laser-focused on paying rent for people right now.

the second a family is evicted, the costs of everything explode. lives are disrupted, new schools have to be found, people are in physical danger, and then they are so much harder to rehouse with an eviction on their record.
so many families are in awful positions because ICE’s bullshit has collapsed the already fragile social safety net.

this family is living in their van in minnesota in winter. they’ve applied for help at over a dozen orgs and are still unhoused. with babies.

The life of myself and every other chronically ill person is about to get much more difficult.

I can't wait to see how AI handles my allergies to penicillin, and iron alloys 😫.
Honestly coming up with boilerplate for that for people to share with their medical teams would be a true public service because like...it's here.

People always hate these projects before they happen and then change their minds once they realize it creates more foot traffic, and more foot traffic is good for business.

Plus, so many of those businesses are used car lots all owned by the same guy and I'd love it if they moved.

I need streaming services to stop making everything move on their home screens all the time.

There should be an accessibility setting to reduce motion, but it seems like most streaming services dgaf.

Yes, it's off on our NVDIA shield but that glitch has her own issues 💅.
