so we're at the stage of authoritarian consolidation where Trump can just loot the treasury and send money to himself without an act of Congress?

nah I'm pretty sure staging an attempted coup is no big deal. in fact, I'd vote for Yoon in the next election. you can trust me, I'm a MAGA lawyer with a degree from the Peterson webinar.
The judge is also stating that South Korean society as a whole has suffered immeasurable damage due to Yoon's insurrection, a cost that the entire nation must now bear.

The US would lose a war with China if war broke out in the Pacific today.

The impressive nature of the Venezuela raid, and whatever happens with Iran soon, doesn't change that.

Americans of both parties don't want to spend more on defense, but Americans also believe victory is their birthright.

Consider that if the Law cannot mete out Justice, then the Law itself is illegitimate.

Every criminal in the Trump syndicate must be brought to justice, pardon or not.

If you don't believe Justice is possible within the Law, then you don't really believe in the rule of Law.
There must be trials. Not as an emotive aspiration, rhetorical meme, or empty threat. A concrete plan. A dedicated special court for it. Structural legislation and prosecutors and funding and all the rest of it. Everything necessary for it can be done constitutionally. All it takes is the will.

friendly reminder that Trump is actually BAD for the stock market
"Trump is great for the stock market!"

Yeah, that's a lie too. Trump is killing US equities.

Under Biden, the US stock market was the best in the world.

Under Trump in 2025, the US market performed worse than most other major markets.

US companies are no longer safe investments, thanks to DJT.

1068 days until the Republican party starts caring again about:
- The debt and deficit
- Norms
- The rule of law
- Corruption
- States rights
- The independence of the DOJ
- Tariffs
- The cost of living
- Executive overreach
- Partisan Supreme Court Justices
- Allies & partners
- China

We need to elect Democrats who will make big moves in Washington. Democrats who will bring ALL the tyrants to justice. Democrats who will pass big legislation to REALLY make Americans' lives better.

If all they do is remove the tariffs and then relax, get ready for Fascism 2 in 2036.

Proof that Gavin Newsom can be bought by anybody, and very affordably. He's going to run on the Cost of Bribing problem.
Gavin Newsom is bought and paid for, by me, the Soy Pill.

Your move AIPAC.

What unrevealed crimes did Pam Bondi commit? What keeps her clinging to Trump's knees at any cost?

We've seen that pretty much everyone else in Trump's inner circle is in the Epstein files. They will do anything for Trump's protection.

What skeletons are in Pam's closet?

You may have seen the claim that Trump's name appears in the Epstein files more than 38,000 times.

Buckle up.

Jamie Raskin is now saying that Trump's name appears in the currently available Epstein files...

*over one million times*

3M files still unreleased.

The reason that people vote for Republicans is because a) "the economy" isn't the only thing that motivates their votes, and b) because Democracy doesn't work.
During these 37 years here's the average job growth per year under the two parties:

Democrats - 2,500,000
Republicans - 90,000 2/

I knew musk was a fraud in like 2014 but nobody wanted to hear it
Spoiler alert: Elon Musk will not build a colony or an outpost or so much as an outdoor toilet on the Moon. Not in ten years. Not in twenty years. Not ever. When your dipshit friend or relative expresses excitement over his announcement, just change the subject. There's no point. It's a cult.

I'm aware of the strong anti-doomer sentiment around election interference, but let's just game something out:

Imagine that Feds, guys with guns, show up to seize paper ballots at select locations.

Who's going to stop them? You believe this would be the moment that local police draw weapons?
Warner: "There is a very real threat without reforms at ICE that you could have ICE patrols around polling stations. And people say, 'Why would that matter if they're all American citizens?' We've seen ICE discriminate against Latinos ... you don't need to do a lot to discourage people from voting"

US national debt is currently about 125% of GDP, which is higher than it was in 1946. This is untenable.

I used the CRFB's online tool to reduce the debt/GDP ratio to 69% by 2036. I was simultaneously able to greatly increase spending on healthcare.

Guess how I did it :)

The biggest problem with Democracy is that people are stupid. People are really fucking stupid. Nobody cares to learn what is true and what is false. Nobody wants to do even the slightest bit of fucking research to learn anything, they just want to have their priors validated. People are lazy.

I still can't believe all those places threatened us with invasion :(
To be fair, the security environment is now looking more tenuous than ever before. In addition to a resurgent Russia and a now-peer China, we have to contend with threats from Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Canada, Greenland, South Korea, all of South America, all of NATO, and worst of all Minneapolis.
