I have lots to say and I am convincing myself to say as little as possible, but I don't think a society that has been absolutely saturated in unavoidable looping videos of snuff films for a decade is one that can hold. Power will and has coalesced around those who best weaponize the snuff films.

Air Canada's CEO admitting to the media that their entire plan for the flight attendants' strike was "have the government say they're not allowed" and that they have no other ideas about how to deal with the strike is really a "yeah this is how Canada REALLY works" moment if ever there was one

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Tesla warns Trump administration it is ‘exposed’ to retaliatory tariffs...

Are you old enough to remember “Pop-up Videos”? It was a TV show that played music videos and had “info nuggets” pop up on the screen with interesting trivia. TV could do that with political speeches to fact-check liars in real time, within seconds of their lies. 2/6 🧵

You just summarized part of why we’re here and why many have no faith we’ll survive this. Bureaucratic meeting? Royal Commission? How’s that incestuous monarchy working out for us right now
The challenges ahead are so monumental that we need nothing short of a new national policy, and a Royal Commission that helps to bring it to life.

And we need all of this yesterday.⬇️
Canada faces revolutionary change. It may sound staid, but we urgently need something on the scale of a Royal Commission to *finally* figure out our options and choices.
Right now we’re not so much acting as reacting, casting about, not fully understanding where we are and what we’re doing. 🧵
