Excited to share a personal project I've been working on. I've heard the best thing you can do for your country in tough times is use the skills you have.

So I hope you'll subscribe, share and listen to Elbows Up, a podcast about how, exactly, Canada can be strong and free. Forever.

All the dollars I lost happily hedging against the Jays earlier this year are coming back to me and bringing friends and I honestly hate that. Might have to up the ante. Either we win the division or I make enough money to buy a Switch 2. Gotta go do some math.
I have to tell you folks. I enjoy emotional hedging as basically my only form of sports betting. And I’ve probably lost about $60-80 betting $3-5 against the Blue Jays every day since they got hot and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent.

A lovely tribute to Ken Dryden by Paul Wells. Very much worth your time today. open.substack.com/pub/paulwell...

Also, if you’ve never read The Game, now is the time to fix that.

Not that anyone asked but my brother was doing a Remember Concerts We’ve Been To thing in the group chat, and the more the years go by the more I realize this is probably the best and most historic show I’ll ever have attended:

I hope for a lot of things for this troubled world.

But also, I spend a lot of time hoping that I will live to see a day when I don’t have to give even a first thought, never mind a second, to people like the ones named in this post.
People currently fighting:

Marjorie Taylor Greene and Laura Loomer.

Candace Owens/Milo Yiannopoulos vs. Nick Fuentes, with Elon Musk jumping in briefly to fan the flames.

Was talking with a friend about being old today and he raised a fun Q: can you remember who the first athlete was, that you watched their WHOLE career as a fan, who was elected to a hall of fame?

You have to actually remember them as a rookie.

I think my best is Griffey or Shaq, in 2016.

Here’s a good Bluesky sports test. Anyone have thoughts on this 12 team SF best ball draft that I started from the 1.1 and think I like the most of all my teams through five rounds? This is a really entertaining build, with potential!

That was an absolutely incredible tennis match. So glad I took the time to watch it.

It really sucks that sports hasn’t taken off on here. Because I can’t justify, for the sake of my mental health, logging onto the Politics App at 9 pm. See y’all tomorrow.

Good for Bo. Great job, Bo. Go get some pitching now Ross.

I will put the microbreweries in the Eastern Townships up against any area in the country. This was a quick stop at a random grocery store just to see what they had that I hadn’t tried last year. Ridiculous. These are all from various small towns within 20 mins from here.

I’m taking a real beating over here folks but I’m ok with it, you’re welcome.

I haven’t wished I was doing a daily news podcast since the day it ended for me, because everything has been horrible since November and my mental health would have suffered. It was honestly great timing.

But man I wish I could do one just on the Blue Jays, just for fun.

You might think I should trim back my garden. But you do not understand. One day I plan to sit down here and just let the plants have me.

I put some spare money I had into BTC and Doge. Not because I like it. But it’s the same principle I use when I bet against my favourite sports teams.

If the Bad Guys are going to win I want a piece of it. And it’s worth that money to me to see them lose if it happens.

The hilariously sad and yet totally predictable thing about cord cutting is that within a few years massive price increases have probably made it advantageous to the folks who just kept their cable channels and use them to log on to Sportsnet and the like.

Was always going to end up this way…

24 Hours, a paper I once worked for and which has not published in Canada since 2017, is more trusted than Fox News. And I can’t argue with that.
Metro: 26%
24 Hours: 26%
Fox News: 24%
Rebel Media: 18%
Beaverton: 15%

Yo Addison Barger just might be the real deal. Not just a hot hitting streak, he’s making plays all over the diamond. I’m getting kind of … excited.

Also, it didn’t catch on and they didn’t keep doing it, but Radiohead made In Rainbows a pay-what-you-wish release and a generation that came of age on Napster never stepped up and here we are.
You know who got a ton of hate but that history should totally vindicate? Metallica, for trying to sue Napster and its users into oblivion.
