Most comfortable saying “ooof,” interested in the discourse but typically not interested in contributing. A mixture of too many passions: your economic developments/sustainablities, ecological evolutions, colors, comic books, news, funnies, fun, and etc

I know people are mocking this question but short haul flights like the ones between DC and NY are among the most carbon intensive and need to be eliminated. And the actual time difference btwn the two is negligible when you factor in security. I was surprised he flew.
Reporter to Mamdani (mocking): "Why did you fly here? Aren't trains greener?"

Mamdani (with tolerant smile): "I will use every form of transit, and I want to make sure they're affordable in NYC."

And they aren't doing this in the outskirts. Reports of raids happening in neighborhoods in the center of L.A., maybe a mile or two from city hall. None of it is being done in an attempt to be out of sight.
People have largely tried to act like ICE/CBP failed and retreated from LA and that is completely untrue. If it weren’t for the relentless coverage of places like @lataco.bsky.social these stories would be completely under the radar.
ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.

A party that couldn't endorse Mamdani. . . has room for Marjorie Taylor Greene

The party can burn in hell
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

The pro-Nick Fuentes Administration destroying people and institutions on the basis of “fighting antisemitism” has me losing my damn mind.

The Nazi-sympathizers pretending to be protectors of American Jews has to be one of the most profound mindfucks in an era rife with them.

This is interesting — a recent study of mode share (the % share of transportation trips by car, transit, walking, biking etc) relative to city size and income levels in almost 800 cities in 61 countries. Interesting results. HT @davidzipper.bsky.social

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

You can disagree and argue as much as you like but the point of evaluating something scientifically is that not every statement should be given equal credence because evidence matters

Democrats there, hearing that Donald Trump has hit a historic peak of being hated by the nation, and feeling a twinge of competitive instinct for the first time in years. "Hey," they wailed. "We can suck too."

The problem is that the democrats think the general population is stupid just like the republicans do. Just being outraged won’t make a difference to a group of people who don’t worry about food and have continued getting paid and have healthcare subsidized by the government

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

I think democrats should push for a thorough review of all Elon Musk govt contracts as part of their 2026-8 portfolio. Why are taxpayers financing the work of a racist near-trillionaire? Leaving that unexamined was one of the biggest failures of the last Dem majority.

This is really not how any of this is supposed to work. Remembering how many times I was told "the government should never be picking winners and losers"... from many people who are in today's federal government.
Not simply fascism. Monarchism.

Honestly everything that has gone wrong with genre. He’s alive because Adam Driver is a terrific actor and Steven Soderburgh is a terrific director and they want to make a movie!
Adam Driver reveals he was developing a new Star Wars movie ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO’ with Steven Soderbergh

• Was set after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’

• Lucasfilm loved the idea but Disney said no — “They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive”

For sure some of the legacy media outlets are downplaying the protests because they’re aligned with Trump, but I think an even bigger factor is how many elite journalists have a patrician disdain for the idea that politics can happen in the streets and not just the CNN green room.
