Said goodbye to my lifelong friend Joe today. Just shy of 105 years old. He was a firefighter, a railroad worker, and joined the air force during WW2. Generous and intelligent, sharp right up till the end.

jiminy's animal reviews: This absolute unit is a Chinese giant salamander (𝘈𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘴), and in my unbiased opinion, they are worth killing for. There are several species native to East Asia within the genus, and this one isn’t even the largest. 🧵
