The edgy Left got "woke" all wrong because they thought it was a ruling class thing. No. It was a creatives/professionals/academics thing, which the ruling class went along with for the sake of class peace.

Now, they think AI will allow them to fire all those people, so mask comes off
im starting to think what's actually going on is that a lot of elites aren't bending the knee out of fear but because they see trump as one of them and hold everyone they see as below them in contempt. like they're just looking for excuses to do what trump wants cause they like his style

I keep thinking about Matt, Trey and Seth rebranding bigotry as humor for two whole generations and still pretending they aren’t serving the same devil as Trump.
The South Park guys are big ol' transphobes who were just a few seasons ago whining about 'diversity' and spent several seasons bitching and moaning about 'Political Correctness' like it was the friggin' 90s.

You do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to them.

To me, this tweet epitomizes the redefinition of visual truth: «Can you believe she wears that outfit!?» Clearly, neither Musk nor his followers believe that. However, they do believe in the image's message. By sharing AI images as emblems of a shared truth, they create a community of believers

Ok youre cool with therians but do you accept therians who actually struggle with being literal animals in human society? Who bite people? Who have to cope with unacceptable and taboo urges? Who experience shifts that can put them in danger? Therians who act like animals in the ugliest way?

If 4.9 million kids with asthma is a national health priority, what does it mean when 5.8 million have Long Covid?

Why is the #1 chronic condition in children being ignored?

After watching the difference between Israel bombing EVERY HOSPITAL in Gaza INTENTIONALLY for TWO YEARS STRAIGHT, and what seems like a Iranian stray missile hitting an Israeli hospital (which is bad, too!) - I'm done with Western media. This isn't journalism. It is complicity in genocide.

Keep up on your boosters, mask (at least) in crowded locations, have friends and family test before gatherings. Regardless of politics having moved on, you don’t have to sacrifice your health to a political playbook that meaningfully conflicts with science. Be a leader on covid, not a follower.

This is all very scary data, and you may be saying “well if this is true, why does no one take it seriously anymore?” And the answer to that is unpleasant and political: it became politically expedient for both parties to insist it was fixed.

But YOU can change that. It’s never too late.

Covid Myth Number Five: if I’ve been infected and recovered fine, I don’t need to worry about Covid.

Alas, studies point to the opposite. Even with mild infections, your risk of post-infection complications like blood clots and long covid goes UP, every time.

COVID-19 reinfection ups risk of long COVID, new data show
People who had 2 COVID infections were more than twice as likely to report long COVID as those with 1 infection, and the risk rose with more reinfections.

Big Myth Four: Covid is Over

People mean a variety of things by this, but none of them are right except that the era of public health interventions on Covid appear to be over. Here’s the aggregate wastewater data for the last few years in the US. Notice that big honking peak - LAST YEAR??

To elaborate on this, a lot of the “masks don’t work” debate was based on studies that weren’t actually measuring the functioning capabilities of the mask, but the behavior of the participants. Like condoms, masks only work if you wear them right and use them consistently and correctly!

Third Big Covid Myth: Masking doesn’t work

One of the most insidious myths, this was used in pushes to drop mask requirements. But what studies show a well-fit n95 or kn95 works GREAT, blocking up to 98% of viral particles from being inhaled.

Second Big Covid Myth: The vaccine primarily reduces your risk of getting Covid.

NNNNNOPE! While the vaccine does somewhat lessen infections, it’s more effective at reducing infection *severity*. This is why death dropped after the vax, but not infections.
