The main evidence that it's fake is also the evidence the Pee Tape is fake. It is too transparently exactly what "we" would like to hear. And like the Pee Tape, once debunked it will tarnish all the *real* stuff by association.

It’s not hard to understand why the post-OWS ended up the way it did when you realize that—however well intentioned—the idea of ‘the 99%’ was effectively an attempt to create class collaboration.

TBH one of the biggest structural weaknesses of the left is the fact that so much of the 'intro-to-activism' content kids encounter when they first get involved is total bullshit written by the worst people which then takes years to unlearn (if folks ever do, and many do not).
The fact that Chomsky is an intro into left-wing politics for so many is itself really very problematic, because he essentially politicises people into proto-campist positions

I agree with you in general. But in New York, at least, drivers have much higher incomes than other people, so the distributional impact here is positive.
Congestion fees in a setting where there was not a good transit alternative would be much more problematic.
