Hey furloughed fed friends,

Stop feeling GUILTY. It’s not your fault the work isn’t getting done. You didn’t ask to be at home or warming an office chair. This colossal waste is not your fault. Don’t feel bad for someone else’s mistakes.

Unplug if you can. Rest. Take care of yourselves 💚🫂

Hey, UU friends especially, leave this in your church!
OK nerds, I have a challenge for you.

@tangledwilderness.bsky.social has just published my Letter to the Trans Teens Thinking About Giving Up as a zine. I want to see how many copies of it we can get into the hands of the people who need to read it, and I need YOUR help.

This is especially a problem for places like Wyoming with vast amounts of land served by small rural hospitals.
Let’s be very clear: even if you are not a Medicaid recipient, cuts to the program will impact you.

Without Medicaid funds, rural hospitals, maternity wards, and nursing homes will be shuttered.

Having private health insurance won’t do you much good when there’s nowhere to go.

ICE No! Water Yes!

Bring a water bottle with a squirt top in case you need to rinse out your eyes or someone else’s when tear gas or pepper spray have been deployed. Bring more water for drinking and sharing with those around you!

Water is life. ICE is injustice.
Abolish ICE. Share water. 💦

Remember, protests can involve lots of singing and shouting. Carry plenty of water, and maybe a few cough drops or hard candies. 🍬 Make friends in the streets by sharing!
June 13, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Are you carrying water? One to drink, one for eye washes, one to give away? Be a friend to your fellow protestors. Take water! 💦 Love to all!
June 13, 2025 at 1:22 PM
Hey! It’s protest time! Don’t forget to drink water, bring water, share water in the streets. The cops and the military might knock us down, but dehydration never should! 💦

This passage from @benjamincarterhett.bsky.social's book on Hitler's rise to power has long haunted me for the way it describes how so many ordinary Germans had their minds & souls gradually rewired by the changing political climate of the 1930s. Watching something similar happen here is terrifying.

Go to this thread. Email these folks to let them know how you feel about their work separating children from their families, arresting babies, deporting green card holders with no criminal history, etc. Let them know this isn’t even remotely acceptable, that they can and should refuse their orders.

This right here. Spreading "perfect victim" or "innocence" narratives is dangerous and cedes ground on the fact that *all* people deserve dignity, humane treatment, and access to due process. Feeding into perfect victim or innocence narratives isn't just irresponsible messaging, it is copaganda.
It is really bothering me (understatement) that the message is “bring back that one innocent guy” and not “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK SHUT DOWN THIS WHOLE OPERATION IMMEDIATELY.”

As it should be. We are better as a people when we protect and uplift diversity and make sure all people have fundamental rights to be secure in their country as citizens. We need not think, speak, act, or look alike to have precious gifts to share.

No.
The contempt they have for disabled children is born of a wider disgust of and hate for disability more broadly.
For literal decades, they have made it clear that they believe disabled people should be out of sight out of mind. Look at their whining about ASL interpreters, attacks on the ADA.
The contempt they have for disabled children is rooted in a mistaken belief that there aren't too many of them.

Estimates show that between 1-in-8 and 1-in-5 students in America have some kind of learning disability.

There are an awful lot of SPED families out here, and we will *fight* this shit.
Jessica: When I hear Republicans out there talking about their plan for education in America, I don't hear them talking about making sure disabled kids have access to a public education.

Greg: Because we're against it.
