That’s the current police commissioner. When Mamdani takes office, if he allows the NYPD to assist ICE or attack protesters, I’ll criticize him just as much as @govpritzker.illinois.gov who has utterly failed the public by ordering the IL State Police to assault peaceful demonstrators at Broadview.
Except the police commissioner leaked her own call with HSI scolding them for these “show of force” ops and telling them to knock it off. Let’s stick to the facts of the situation, not what we want to be true to satisfy a gap in what is.

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

Check out this thread. It’s certainly helpful for my own sanity to hear that DHS BWC shows what we all saw with our own eyes. It’s really something to be gaslit by the government after each of their attacks.
