If I remember rightly this character is Mughal which makes this exceptionally funny. Brb googling “gunpowder empire”
I do not think a willingness to use guns for conquest is a distinctively British trait, but so far this book has not for a moment considered that it isn’t. The characters making this claim are torn only because they’re hypocrites for being at Oxford, not because it’s, you know, historically bonkers

The 12th Aviation Battalion comes away from this looking like a pack of unprofessional clowns. Running training flights in the busiest airspace on earth with night vision goggles on and altimeters that are regularly off by more than 50% of the maximum allowed height?
For the last few months, I've been working on a story about January's crash near Washington, D.C. What I learned was that it was simply an accident waiting to happen.

Special Report: The night everything at DCA finally went wrong
D.C. midair crash was the result of a complete collapse of the protections designed to keep aviation safe — and the institutions that design and maintain them

Children are being exploited and abused because Big Tech consistently prioritizes profits over people.

Enough is enough. Time to sunset Section 230.

The drive from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles, California is 23 hours long

When you are halfway there, you are still in Texas
my dad was in LA once. germany counterparty asked him, how far to drive from LA to vegas. my dad was like "eh, 7ish hours." they thought it was a day trip. could visit the city, see a bunch of sights, drive back, in a day.
If you go abroad, this has to be repeated to people everywhere. It's probably one of the least understood things about our country! For real!

this is like shaking a bag of watch parts and dumping out a fully assembled watch. many people say that this is impossible.

the people who say that result from an even more disorganized bag shaken by an even stupider process.
