A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI.
The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully.
It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God.

Tech Billionaire Mocks Pope Leo’s AI Warning — and Reveals Silicon Valley’s Original Sin
A billionaire tech guru openly mocked Leo's call for moral AI — and quickly backtracked after backlash. It’s a telling collision of Silicon Valley hubris with a pope they cannot buy, bully, or ignore.

My one #politics tweet of the day.
Starmer is not a technocrat. He is a run of the mill middle manager who relies on others for ideas and vision.
Which is why UK Labour govern like a teenager's idea of a Fine Gael government with occasional residual nervous reflex spasms of progressiveness.

Why am I doing this? Because the publisher I originally wrote the book for folded, taking my & my readers’ money. Because I’ve spent the last year clearing up their mess. Because it’s the best thing I’ve ever written. Because I want it to reach the right people. Because this is fucking survival…

This is a deeply cowardly government.
Just look at their response to the recent attacks on migrants.
Starmer will eventually make a clunky speech saying he supports the BBC while further cutting the licence fee and saying that there are "legitimate concerns" about their coverage of Trump.

I do not understand the Labour government's reticence over defending the BBC and social media regulation. Their long-term survival basically depends on it. Their cowardice in the face of it may be the single thing they are most remembered for.

Corbyn and Sultana clash comes after months of fighting between the pair both jostling to be leader of populist left
The feud between Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana over the future of a left wing party took another twist as the two camps argued publicly over hundreds of thousands of pounds in donations.
Sultana on Monday offered to transfer £600,000 from a company which the party’s founders set up earlier this year, only to be rebuffed by allies of Corbyn who accused her of playing “political games” with supporters’ money. Continue reading...
