Blocking the new Detroit-Windsor bridge — as Trump is threatening — would be yet another act of economic self-sabotage

Trump Tirade Over Bridge to Canada Backfires, Handing Dems 2026 Weapon
His corrupt threat to block the opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge is about to become a big albatross around the necks of GOP candidates in pivotal Michigan.

And yeh. This is what Trump voters and non-voters voted for.
Coming soon, to a “university” near you in a state controlled by the far right authoritarian party
There is some irony in the GOP responding to (incorrect) fears about professors teaching that they are a party of totalitarian monsters by turning classrooms into totalitarian surveillance chambers where an errant phrase can lead to systematic harassment.

NEW: The Trump admin certainly put on a show last week about changing tactics in Minnesota after ICE agents killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old VA nurse.

Trump even suggested it's time for "a softer touch."

Except residents say nothing has changed. At all. www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-mi...

Two weeks after Alex Pretti’s killing, federal agents have shown no signs of backing down. The resistance definitely hasn't.

This is why @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social ICE "reform" agenda is inadequate. The goal is not to see what you can secure thru legislative means alone as an end in and of itself. You lead and ask for more, create the conditions to lay the foundation for what we need to happen.
Update: In the past week we've learned ICE has secured property to build human warehouses in Merrimack, NH and Williamsport, MD *as well as* Surprise, AZ; Upper Bern, PA; and Tremont, PA.

Facts that bear repeating.
