The Winter Superstorm Reminds Us That Earth Is A God.

I’d say experience is the precondition for pattern recognition. Phenomenal presence is prior to sensorial specifics (I quess 😀… good question).
Real question: how is experience different from pattern recognition? How is the Lebenswelt different from the Umwelt, i.e., the set of patterns a system can recognize?

Continents and oceans: we both. But it didn’t have to be this way and on most planets it probably isn’t. That’s important because truly complex life may need dry land to get going.

I LOVE the show so far. That's a cool question. Would it be a major evolutionary transition? In the classic sense or in the "Hard Steps Problem" sense? As you say, it depends on what the consequences are on a planetary level.
I was wondering what you thought of this show! Also whether the joining could qualify as a major transition in evolution or individuality. Not sure if that works on a planetary level, or if this hive mind reproduces at all (are they now transmitting a signal like the one they received?).
December 10, 2025 at 1:19 PM
What is it like to be in a hive mind? Are you a slave to the larger intelligence? Or can you still retain your individuality while being immersed in the warm thoughts of collective?
