Allow me to translate: “it’s okay to kill these people because they’re queers”
Jesse Watters highlights that Renee Nicole Good, the woman killed by ICE, had "pronouns in her bio" and "leaves behind a lesbian partner and a child from a previous marriage"

I want us to stay focused on the grief of this terrible moment, but when Black people tell you not to touch something, that is not a challenge. Some things are ours for a reason. We can remember Renee Good as the person she was and the circumstances of her murder without co-opting Black suffering.
“Say her name” is not about allyship. It’s a term crafted for people who are the focus of violence that deliberately erases us. It’s not for her, and it wouldn’t be for her, even if she were Heather Heyer, who didn’t get it when she died for civil rights. Can you understand that?

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

There's a small but vocal group of Democratic Party superfans on here who think it's unfair to criticize the party but I think results speak for themselves. This current breed of Democrat has been in control for 50 years. What do we have to show for it

It’s not enough for these people to brazenly lie to cover up a cold blooded killing by a trigger happy federal goon, they have to make up lies about the woman they killed and people like her to spit on her grave.
Noem: "People need to stop using their vehicles as weapons ... it's clear that it's being coordinated. People are being trained"

Dems are still approaching this wrong. I just saw a BBC host ask a state senator if Tim Walz should call out the National Guard.

He says, "No, because Minnesotans know how to protest peacefully."

THAT'S NOT WHO THE GUARD IS FOR. THE GUARD IS TO PROTECT THE PROTESTERS FROM LAWLESS FEDERAL AGENTS.

The amazing notion conservatives have, that racist kidnapping thugs should never feel unsafe for a single moment while they are kidnapping, and if they do decide they feel unsafe they are authorized to murder any of us.

ICE killed a member of our community today. ICE showed up at my kid’s daycare today. ICE is bragging about the number of families they’ve torn apart in a matter of days, and promising that their campaign of terror isn’t done.

man it's so awesome that state force can apparently only ever be deployed against people protesting cruelty and never against the ones causing the cruelty
Governor Walz says he's prepared to deploy the Minnesota National Guard if protests become violent in reaction to ICE fatally shooting a woman in Minneapolis.

"We will not take the bait," adds Walz, saying he's also angry but demonstrations should remain lawful.

A lot of people are fighting over whether or not watching a video of someone's death makes you a better activist or person and I would like to gently suggest that what you do in response to the video's existence is what matters, whether you watched it or not.

Screaming "Do something!" is very cathartic and highly recommended. I would only stress that we have a wonderful selection of politicians and billionaires to scream at. There are men and women who have the power to get things done with a few phone calls and a few checks.

The woman killed by ICE was Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old who was the mother of a 4-year old child whose father already died a few years ago.

if you need it in nursery rhyme form:

If they’re advocating violence it’s a Fed 👏👏
If they’re advocating violence it’s a Fed 👏👏
If they’re advocating violence
It’s report, oppose, or silence
If they’re advocating violence it’s a Fed 👏👏
Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

Say bad things are bad.

It is hard to get people to remember that ICE before this crisis was whipping migrants from horseback as they tried crossing a river where ICE set up actual saw blades meant to eviscerate anyone swept downstream.

They were always this deadly, depraved, violent.

And they’ll say they can’t be held accountable because when they pulled the trigger they were afraid for their lives. Their lives which they spent serving an ideology of fear, a machine of fear, a holistic regime of fear. A culture-spanning engine of the ugliest and most dishonest fears there are.
Any one of us could be shot or kidnapped because an ICE agent doesn’t like the look of us. Are you prepared to be murdered in cold blood while “news” sources repeat the claim you were “weaponizing your vehicle” trying to leave your driveway? They want you to accept that. They want to make it normal
