American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

One has to wonder what the informational inputs are of senators who decided to cave.
The fact that many Democratic Senators are profoundly trapped in an unreal matrix of DC-media assumptions is a disaster on an epic scale. But it’s also an opportunity.
You have to wait years to primary most Senators, but you can fight to change those assumptions now.
Let me explain…

Feeling spicy might delete but I used to work with Chuck Schumer's eldest daughter, and when she was getting ready to go to Yale Law she was dissatisfied with her financial aid package so she made them do a three way call (at the office) with her and her dad to push for a better package

It's weird that this needs to be so clearly spelled out. Humans are ultra-social, cultural beings. This is at the core *everything we do - especially in things that matter most to us, like politics, law, economics & medicine. Of course humanities are central! Who's to blame if this isn't understood?
What's lost when we lose staff, departments, programmes and faculties in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and what's that got to do with organ donation?
Amid the looming losses faced by Cardiff, Edinburgh, Lancaster, Leicester and Nottingham (among many others), here's a worked example. 1/8

SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.

In a very sick sense, the creators of the machine can actually claim the user inflicted harm upon themself by simply using the machine of their own 'free will'. They chose their own fate, as it were.
