A cool audhd thing to do is make a lifescript to randomly pick shit for you to do: randomly spit out one of the books you're actively reading, things to study or a project you're working on, a room to clean, dish to make, etc.

Highly recommend outsourcing your executive function to dicerolls.

broad brush take, but: it appears that wonder and curiosity are essential elements for not aging into a Bitter Old Person, or keeping a “youthful” mind.
amen, or perhaps another way, the youth will have imagination that should provoke the older and stiffer-minded, as well as the flexible. old folks have knowledge, which can help some repeat errors, but plenty of middle aged and old people can’t imagine for shit, we *need* new minds.

The third part of my Blender Character modelling tutorial series is out, meaning all of the actual modelling portion is done, so you can fully model your character now. There is still more to come, though.

Wondering how a kid who grows up only seeing humans as depicted through AI-Generated images and video would deal with coming into contact with another physical human.

Not an impossible experiment, but no one is letting me have those resources for good reason, I imagine.

The universe is a conscious being and we are in the process of being digested.

That, or I'm hungry again.

The Divine Machine allows us to create without care, letting us tend to real world matters, such as creating a culture of people who all worship the Divine Machine.

A lot of Stuff Happening these days seems to hinge on a kind of collective abdication of understanding the nature of artifice and creativity, of which LLMs and their adjacent technologies are emblematic. I'm thinking about e.g. people struggling with separating enjoyment from endorsement in media.
this is really reasonant as a point to me in particular because i was seeing the same kind of ascribed agency in how people talked about my bots for a decade. i experienced it as a way people alienated me from my artistic production but here it acts as a shield against responsibility
Having trouble articulating this, but I find something off even in articles critical of LLMs' role in suicides, like that NYT one. It's in the way they speciously ascribe agency to them ("ChatGPT recommended," "ChatGPT confirmed," etc.) in ways that ultimately legitimize the industry's own fictions.

don’t know if it’s just a polite nerd tic, but I’m seeing an increase in “people professing they don’t understand why people would do [insert risky/dangerous/dumb activity],”

and I would like to give you all the answer so you can stop: because it’s fun or convenient or temporarily satisfying.

It (and the concurrent breakdown in consensus reality along political lines) feels like it’s an extreme example of what Baudrillard calls “hyperrealism”; basically people abandoning objective reality for a world which tells a better story.

So now we can just blame the AI, instead of the person who owns it.

What's the worst that can happen when we shift all culpability to a nonsentient technology and allow the humans behind it to walk free.

It's the AI's fault the drone bombed your house. Take it up with the AI.
