Yesterday I got a perfect al chiodo but messed up the saucing.
Cooking pasta is one of the most timing sensitive tasks in the Italian kitchen. And you can’t rely on a timer for it.

Curling-Electronic handles are a hit at Milano Cortina Games
Curlers have welcomed the introduction of electronic handles on the stones at the Winter Olympics which can automatically detect and flag hog line violations, saying the technology makes the genteel sport fairer than ever.

At this time I would like to reiterate my call to re-regulate the airlines:

🔹Mandatory charge for carry-on bags (which goes toward TSA budget). Airlines can tack-on whatever they want.

🔹No charge for checked bags.

It’s currently ass-backwards.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

So the lesson here is Democrats have to find a candidate with irresistible charisma who is immune to wreckers and whose achievements can be inflated by his or her fans.

Anna’s Archive last person standing
It's true. I just did a "Books" search in Google for "France Old Regime" and got an error message "It looks like there aren't any books on this topic."

GoogleBooks could just be "down" for scheduled maintenance (or whatever) but that's not what the error message says.
I don't mean to seem alarmed, but it appears Google's book search function is, just...gone.

In a sane country it would be a huge deal, front page news, that a privately owned utility that millions researches, from journalists to scholars, rely on every day to advance knowledge can just disappear.

The only item on the agenda in the Greenland legislature today was the premier’s report on the state of the nation.
