While it's gotten very business class popsci ("thinking fast vs thinking slow") I do repeatedly find a sharp distinction among many people between heuristic/rule based thinking (eg where they follow a code & respond to things) and overall-evaluative tradeoff thinking. Donald Trump has instructed the entire FBI to prioritize finding ways to bring charges against anti-fascists and other activists. Any FBI agent who wants to advance his career now has an incentive to set up naïve kids for an entrapment case.
