Check this out (particularly from around 6:00) for Scorched Earth circa 1969!
Could be of interest to game historians/fans - a 1969 film from Dartmouth College showing P0TSH0T, an early artillery/ballistic curve computer game, displayed using a plotter. Credit to the original uploader Kevin Bunch! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ7A...

Journal with Witch – Episode 1

It's exquisitely boarded, perfectly edited, and speaks profoundly to the human condition, intimacy, and ambiguities of grief.

Use the term “touch grass” to indicate that someone needs to seek out reality, use the term “touch moss” to indicate that they need to seek out ancient forest magic beyond their mortal comprehension.

And one more shout-out for a great curator page run by @bimbo.city - Under 100 games. Spotlighting great stuff that has under 100 Steam User Reviews, which according to THE ALGORITHM means that they're not real games yet

(Leave Steam reviews on everything you enjoy, even if it's just a 'cool game')

As much as we can we implement new features without new hardware - and androda has done it again over this holday break:

🎶 💿 CD #Audio support in all #BlueSCSI's is coming soon! You'll need a DAC, they're cheap and we'll make one that fits nicely on old devices too: mastodon.social/@TechByAndro...

Video game factoid: Did you know that if a game gives the player choice between a male and female character, some people will actually choose the male one? Believe it or not, it's true - though reports indicate this is generally by accident

The year is 2035. There are three game studios left. Each one produces a game every 10 years, killing 250+ developers in the process. They all accidentally make the same game because they used genAI in preproduction. They sell 500 million units each, missing quarterly targets. Everyone is laid off.

I asked what I should use instead of firefox and someone said “floorp” and I legitimately thought it was a bit for like five minutes. tech has gone beyond making the torment nexus real to making poob real.
