I need nice beautiful Blu-rays so badly for this series. Season 1, season 2, the specials. We only ever got DVD for season 1 (and nothing else). I hope sales of the hardcover Mushishi manga will persuade someone to get on this.

Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, School Babysitters, Season 2 of My Next Life As A Villainess: All Road Lead To Doom and Tiger & Bunny, and the third season of Kimi ni Todoke are probably my most wanted, excluding some very new series that I still have hope for. (Medalist, especially.)

Mayonaka Punch please... and that's just the first one I can think of that's actually in the realm of possibility (e.g. not 4+ cours).

I often wonder if there are warehouses full of Macross Frontier Blu-rays, with English subtitles, just rotting there because @crunchyroll.com is the worst.

oh, in my country?
all of them. we don't get those anymore, haven't gotten that since Saint Seiya and Naruto 🤡

best you can get is imports, quite often no Portuguese/PT-BR dub or even subtitles, and a single bd disc is like 70 USD (or 10 manga volumes).

very proud of having edited this. having my own history with Japanese imperialism made it feel personal, and i was so happy to get to spotlight such a detailed analysis of all the problems with localization that removes the political heart of a work
Solo Leveling’s Adaptation and the Echoes of Anti-Korean Sentiment and Japanese Imperialism

Solo Leveling’s Japanese release removed all references to Korea–a glaring decision when the Jeju Island Arc blatantly parallels Japan’s colonization of Korea.

Use real people that are paid well to ensure that their services, at the bare minimum, FUNCTION.

Translate relevant onscreen text. Crunchyroll and HIDIVE seem to be the only ones I’ve found doing this meaningfully. It’s maddening seeing things like a text exchange or a letter that isn’t read aloud presented onscreen with no translation. Netflix having Komi of all things is an absolute travesty.

1. Apps that don’t suddenly forget who you are or stop working on your device of choice and need a full reinstall.
2. Either provide uncut shows, behind an “are you sure, you filthy pervert?” warning if necessary, or just not bother.
3. “Not interested” as well as “Interested” filters.

You know what was great, but that nobody used because it was a niche paid streaming site? Hidive's group watch feature. I organized a group watch of Votoms with it and we had a great time. An admin even came in and thanked us for using it.

It would be nice if we could get the bare minimum of all shows having subtitles with translation being done by well paid humans.
