I'm genuinely confused at so much of my feed being filled with "Don't celebrate Charlie Kirk being shot **because** this gives Trump the go ahead to violently crush opposition." Did you mean to add "faster" to the end of that sentence? Like, he wasn't waiting for an impetus. It's happening already

The rest of the UN should make it very clear that they are not following the US into another senseless forever war, regardless of prior agreement. The US attacked Iran. This is clearly Iraq 2.0. Any retaliation is the US’ problem to handle. They want isolationism. Time to fuck around and find out.

Point 5 cannot be overemphasized. The scale of lying was so far in excess of what we were used to.
If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

I've checked the data from all the sessions: no car ever reached 300km/h during the Monaco Weekend! 😳

The highest was 295km/h, by STR in the race. Highest in quali was lower (no slipstreams), 292km/h by OCO and ALB: that's lower than the minimum speed in Silverstone’s T1! 🗒️

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options.

Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

posting about how you're preemptively forgiving fascists right now is wild
friendly reminder that the best case scenario over the coming years is that a lot of people say "I supported Trump but this isn't what I wanted at all" and when they do that it's gonna be really, really important that we say "welcome in," not "fuck you, we told you so"

“nobody saw this coming” = “we considered everyone who saw this coming a nobody”
"No one ever thought this would happen" is dishonest and journalists not pointing that out are doing you all a disservice. Many people said word for word this would happen. You just didn't respect those people. And you need to be honest instead of the feigned surprise for sympathy.
