It has become increasingly clear the older I get that because storytelling/writing in video games has always been a small part of the whole, it doesn't receive the care required to tell an interesting or thoughtful story as opposed to a book in which the writing is the whole. This is why books win

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

It's hard to explain to normies how much effort Trump is putting into anti-trans policies.

This is like the 12th thing just this week. And there were 12 things the week before, and 12 things the week before that. There will be 12 things next week.

This is almost everything the government is doing.
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

Interesting how HORSES is a game about complicity in fascism and the storefronts are banning it. Turns out we live in a society

The gouging of the "middle class" is a step towards the logical conclusion of Capitalism: Fascism.
When buying a house is unattainable and jobs are disappearing, it's no surprise young people think they can’t succeed, especially young men.

It's not their fault. It’s Washington’s fault for allowing the middle class to be hollowed out just to make rich people richer.

I think we should start dropping the term "leftist" and either say "anti-capitalist" or "socialist" because that's what most of us mean. We need to normalize those and not use vague terms that don't agitate

You ever think about how conscious time is basically the most valuable thing we have and it’s been commodified for us to labor for other people’s benefit and all the objects around the world are the embodiment of people’s lives spent on this process :)

How about we worry less, as a society, about whether individuals might be cheating to get a disability accommodation or some help buying food, and more about whether extremely wealthy people and corporations are paying their fair share of taxes?

Really striking how easily we can be manipulated with a couple "scary" words
I'm excited to announce this new study, published in The Lancet Planetary Health, which explores public support for degrowth and ecosocialist transformation. The findings are quite surprising.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp laughs about profiting from killing Palestinians using AI.

He calls them 'Hamas' 'useful idiots' and 'mostly terrorists'.

But there is only one terrorist here, Palantir are war criminals.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

I don't know how to do it but we have to teach liberals that current bad things are not random quantum events, but the culmination of systems and policies put in place to create them. Trump and the SCOTUS are the system working as intended: protecting and empowering capitalist swine at all costs.
As others have pointed out, the founders never foresaw a corrupt president (which we have) abusing the pardon power to absolve all criminals and miscreants for any reason, nor did our Daffy Duck Supreme Court ever think it might not be a good idea to put said president above the law.
