Not gonna lie: I had and continue to have complicated feelings re: my debut novel taking off due to the Trump administration.

But if you can find something in it that resonates with you in these weird times, my feelings about that aren't complicated at all. <3
Around this time, in 2017, there was a book I published at Tor about the rise of fascism called Amberlough by @larazontally.bsky.social : a glam spy thriller set in a Weimar-inspired fantasy world. It went on to be a LAMBDA and Nebula Award finalist, and had two sequels (1/)

New story day! “Five Answers to Questions You Probably Have” is live at @uncannymagazine.bsky.social.

It's a short story told in the form of a crumpled up note, stuffed inside a geode, hidden in your bedroom wall, from the father you've never met, explaining how he knew you'd find this one day.

Answer 1: Your mother was right. I get pissed off upset too easily, and I can’t be trusted with money. I can make a lot of excuses but the clearest answer is she’s always been right about our fights e...

Today I have a new story out in @uncannymagazine.bsky.social - “Three Faces of a Beheading”, which is about historiography and usurpation and storytelling and protest actions.

(This is the story I was talking about a bit ago with the stunt-writing POV and structure games!)

I am very proud of it.

Oh no. It’s me.
don't trust biologists when they say "let me show you the coolest thing" because they'll pull out either a pic of rainbow-colored abomination from the heavens or amorphous smear of brown on a slab (non-derogatory)

either way you'll have no idea what it is and just nod politely
