I’m a huge fan of @wikipedia.org and just spent about 4 hours uploading a handful of my photos. I hope someone finds them useful. Here’s one of those images. An ant and its funky Cordyceps horn.

Diminutive fairy wombat poop. Tiny cubes under 2mm on each side.

These are egg sacs made by a spider in the family Theridiosomatidae.

They made yesterday’s hike special. Finding something I’ve never seen before is such a thrill.

Anyhoo, back to art posting. I parked my Dia de los Muertos Skull island piece (I missed it anyways and have a full year to finish). Instead I am already thinking Christmas and my love for #Tron1982 - so hopefully I can turn this into something useful namely a #Tron themed Christmas painting. 1/2

Imma tell you guys a secret: whenever you catch me repeatedly using the same word, or turn of phrase, it's because I am tired, English is my second language and my brain has decided that speaking 1.5 languages is enough for the moment...

OK, I already posted tiny terrestrial snails, let's do a GIANT AQUATIC SNAIL. This is one of the largest marine snails in the world, a Horned helmet shell (C. cornuta). Helmet is right, that shell is THICK. #Snailposting #Invertebrates 🌿📷🐙

@franzanth.bsky.social's Campanile giganteum also needs a shout out, as the reconstruction for "largest ever snail"

These meter (3 ft) long contented filter feeders hung out in the warm seas of Eocene France. Real fossil of one on display in the case below is ~18 in long

Turritella cooperi

Excluded: videos, John Oliver save PRI posts, pics of snails with lots od not snails.

A pleasingly round and stripey snail.

The variations in background colour and stripes on its shell have been studied by geneticists and ecologists.

We salute your contributions to science, little snail pal!
