My linocut print shows a section of leaf with an alfalfa leaf cutter bee in the act of cutting its telltale half-moon shape. The leaf is a pale green with dark green veins and patterns and much paler obverse site. The bee is black and pale yellow. My print is on cream coloured Japanese paper.

This #invertefest I'm going to highlight one invertebrate-themed magic: the gathering card and share some fun facts.
Day 1: Scute Swarm! The iconic card that multiplies itself, mimicking an insect swarm.
I think my highest number of scutes in a game was ~20.
Scute Swarm is a green Magic the gathering card. The art represents a mass of oversized beetles modeled after the rhinocreous beetle but bigger, with more spikes and bright green eyes and "horn". They look particularly menacing. The text on the card reads: landfall - whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control create a 1/1 green Insect creature token. If you control six or more lands, create a token that’s a copy of this creature instead. “Survival rule 782: There are always more scute bugs.” —Zurdi, goblin shortcutter

Day 2 of posting one invertebrate-themed magic card for #invertefest :
Today's card is Luminous Broodmoth. There's a theme among butterfly/caterpillar creatures - they often have transformative abilities, reflecting dramatic change that is insect metamorphosis.
Luminous Broodmoth, a white Magic: The Gathering card. The card art features a large white and yellow moth flying across a night sky. The full moon sits directly behind it's head, making for an ethereal halo effect.
