the only regret with transitioning i have is that i didn’t act on it sooner even though it’s what i wanted. in the last decade we finally got a point where it was socially acceptable for people to transition younger, and they’re trying to take that away and it breaks my heart

"Validity" is what we say to break the inertia of wondering "am I?" and to allow transition (social, medical) to begin.

"Validity" is what we say to break the inertia of wondering "am I?" and to allow transition (social, medical) to begin.

A lot of them recognize that trans women are oppressed, and many even acknowledge that trans women have a place in feminism. They believe that place should be secondary to "real" feminist concerns, however.

But as soon as you decide that TERFism is necessary and the tranners are getting too uppity, you then find friends like the anti trans feminists who make jokes about killing trans women with cancer (fair play for women's original director) and get pulled into social circles slowly radicalising you

Its so disappointing. There are lots of amazing, productive things we can accomplish with machine learning, but this tidal wave of this useless "AI" marketing is sucking up all the oxygen. In the 2010's I loved working on ML research, but now I rarely even want to talk about it

Something I think is useful to point out is that when men are telling you to "be a man" or "you're such a girl" it is as much about *their* social affirmation of their own manhood than anything to do with you. They are using u as an instance to reaffirm their place in the hierarchy.
