"The Boviadium Fragments" is a sci-fi novella (about 50 pages) written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien absolutely hated the automobile, and wrote this story as a conversation among archaeologists about how this century asphyxiated itself on burning petroleum.

As expected, the Trump administration has redacted every single Republican out of the Epstein files, but not Bill Clinton, which is just fine.

First of all, Clinton can go to hell. Second of all, this will not slake the people’s desire for justice, but increase it.

to the contrary, this is an amazing opportunity for cartels to launder drug money into legally owned American assets
This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.

Let’s pretend like these dudes on the boats are really cartel members.

There are a handful of OIF/OEF veterans that would be prepared to deal with that amount of firepower.

Everyone else? This will get Americans killed.

the number one requirement for the next Dem president is that they are willing to look back

There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.

Can I just say 2 things: First, Matt fails to see how these two sentences are different:

"Trump is weak on the economy and highlighting it is bad for him"
"Trump is weak on the economy, so Democrats shouldn't talk about immigration"

I think this says a lot about his ideological priors
Here's a good post from Elliott Morris, the leader of the anti-Yglesias bandwagon, about how Trump's biggest political vulnerability is the cost of living and how Trump is screwing up by drawing more attention to it.
