i've dealt with a lot of abusers and a couple of rapists in my time as a family law attorney and while they're all kinds of people in terms of class, race, how they present themselves, even how they treat their children, every single one of them without exception has been a control freak
Like check with any Black historical scholar and you'll quickly see that the entirety of the US is characterized by slavery. Sexual assault is, as we've determined, almost exclusively a tool of subjugation, it's an exercise of power over the powerless. So it's integral to the character of the US.
