America has no kings

Mostly here to follow accounts I like and occasionally yell at senators.
Pinned
🧵on what I want the national democratic party to do:

I want to see them organize national, positive leadership of the kind we're seeing individually from people like Walz and Pritzker. Standing up and saying "This is what we believe. This is what we defend. Here is how you can help."
On reflection, I'm not as disheartened as I was at first. It sucks to watch a bunch of elderly know-nothings make such a huge mistake. But I really feel like the energy captured by No Kings and the blue wave of last week isn't going to go away. A setback, no matter how big, won't dissuade us.

I think my favorite part is where the dems held out just long enough to screw a bunch of Federal workers and poor people but not long enough to make that pain worth anything.

Blame *all* Democratic incumbents for this surrender. Not just the ones voting for it. The others could have voted to remove Schumer long ago and install a leader capable of formulating a strategy and holding his people together. They were content to stay with a proven loser.
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Important to note that Hassan and co. don't *actually* expect it to work out that way. They just want people to get off their back so they can go back to getting paid to do nothing in particular. They are completely aware that they just sunk the ACA, but they don't care.
Hassan: With the government reopening shortly, Republicans now finally have to come to the table. Or make no mistake, Americans will remember who stood in the way.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

I see the weirdos who get off on defending the Schumer wing of the party have pivoted from "he's playing 4D chess!" to "He's just one guy, what do you expect?"

Flawless. No notes.

So, when can @davidhogg.bsky.social expect an apology from all those who accused him of being hysterical for suggesting we need to primary all these dinosaurs like Chuck Schumer?
November 10, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Make no mistake, Chuck Schumer was 100% behind this deal. His "no" vote was just a cynical ploy to take some of the heat off. He knew he had enough "yes" votes that his own vote didn't matter. He's a two-faced, lying son of a bitch trying to have it both ways.

Chuck Schumer will go down in history as one of the Republican Party’s most effective Senators.

The Democratic Party needs to be fucking decimated. The shitbirds who voted for surrender. And the shitbirds who are complaining now but have allowed Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries--two men who could lose a poker hand with a royal flush--to run the Senate and House caucuses. They *all* suck.

I wish I loved anything as much as Senate Democrats love setting themselves on fire for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Everyone hates Trump, everyone blames him for the shutdown, and the Dem base is motivated like never before. Obviously the only rational decision is to surrender. Fuckers.

It feels slow not because of facts, but because the doom-narrative drowns out reality. 📉 The truth: solar doubled from 1,000 → 2,000 TWh in just 3 yrs, wind’s surging too. Fossils took decades. The fastest energy leap in history is here—don’t let fear blind you. ⚡🌞 #EnergyTransition #BESS #EVs #LFP
Climate action can feel slow – but the fastest energy leap in history has begun
Weaning ourselves off fossil fuels is glacially slow – isn’t it? This pessimistic narrative doesn’t stack up against evidence of very rapid change in the real world.

fwiw I'm not sure we'll be able to pin down a coherent ideology for this shooter. Like the Trump shooter or the MN school church shooter, we're living in an era of incoherent, violent nihilism. People are being radicalized inside algorithm-driven personal realities.
