America has no kings

If a politician will sacrifice trans people for political expediency, they'll sacrifice you too some day.

🧵on what I want the national democratic party to do:

I want to see them organize national, positive leadership of the kind we're seeing individually from people like Walz and Pritzker. Standing up and saying "This is what we believe. This is what we defend. Here is how you can help."
He's just mad he wasn't invited.

Even if they can't pass a law to ban ICE right this second, any democrat who isn't screaming about how such a law needs to be passed at the earliest possible moment is dead to me.

They're still treating ICE like a misbehaving but otherwise conventional law enforcement agency. I feel crazy sometimes

Today I saw ICE gas little white kids in the streets of Portland with chemical weapons. Imagine what they're doing to brown and black kids in the detention camps

Yeah. Sadly, this was all predictable from the day he came down that tacky escalator. He cares about nothing but himself and trying to fill the hole in his soul with gold and status symbols. His ability to compensate for his personality disorders have only decayed over time.

Being rude is a bigger crime in some quarters than being Fascist. We need people with platforms to speak the plain truth of what's happening to our society and to our friends and family. Evil can't be fought without calling it Evil.

The nazis redistributed the stolen property of deported Jews to the German population. It was called Aryanization.

This is no different.

One reason this filth remains niche slop for virulent racists and has no broader appeal is most people live in the world and don't understand what he's on about. He's pitching to a country that exists only in his fantasies. Despite some complaints most people don't think America is a desolate ruin

This is just anecdotal so take it for what it's worth. But over the last couple weeks I've seen way more people willing to honk or wave or otherwise publicly support Indivisible protests while driving company or municipal vehicles. They are not scared by doxing or people calling their employer.

Establishment Dems really need to stop talking about ICE like it's a misbehaving but otherwise "normal" law enforcement agency. ICE is a cancer that will kill the Republic if we let it. It needs to be ripped out root and branch. Even if they can't pass the law, they should still advocate for it.
Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks.

They gassed the whole crowd as soon as it marched on ICE, in broad daylight.

I think we need to come to terms with the fact that some people are just not compatible with living in a functional society. Nuremberg 2.0 is the *minimum* we will need at the end of this.

Green technology really is something with basically no downsides (leaving aside the still unsolved storage issue). It's a win for humanity, a win for the climate, and a win for plants and animals.

The state of green technology in the US is depressing, but I'm glad to see everyone else moving ahead
One of my favorite tidbits from this development is that not only did grass start growing in the desert for the first time, but that it grew so tall to the point it started covering the solar panels and becoming a massive issue, and the best solution was to just let sheep eat the grass.

I can only speak for myself as a person of around the same height, but I think it's important to point out that these people are all losers turning their own insecurities and feelings of inadequacy into violence inflicted on the "other." He's a short, stupid man who made that all our problem.

Even MAGA's evil is recycled garbage. A movement devoid of joy, creativity, or the ability to picture a better world. A cult that worships a fictional past even unto death and poverty for themselves and their families.

I'm sure they're not the only example. But yeah. Violence is very expensive, "the last refuge of the incompetent."

Damned shame so many people have to pay for it while people figure that out.

That way of thinking leads to a party that acts as simple followers, always following behind the cultural movers but never catching up. They surrender the idea of proactively moving the Overton Window. They have no beliefs, just data points.

Whether it's okay to criticize establishment dems is a good way to start flame wars on here. But I feel the pro side doesn't really understand the issue many of us have. At its most basic, I don't believe a party in thrall to data and the Consulting Class can be trusted to defend our rights.

Mayor Pete does not have many uses but he’s somehow found some sort of Dune cadence he can use on Fox News that puts whoever he is talking to in a trance and allows him to speak for five uninterrupted minutes
Buttigieg on Fox News: "Seeing an American taken to the ground, having his gun removed, being shot in the back 10 times, then having the govt say he was a terrorist all along based on no evidence.. those are kinds of things that as painful as they are, can actually bring together a lot of Americans"

It really isn't talked about enough that Musk is just Bad At Space. Like, he has less understanding of the physics and challenges than the average person. He's just been faking it by throwing cash at it but you can't bribe physics.
I must admit, I thought Musk's comment about "orbital data centers" was just his normal off-the-cuff ignorance, but... there's an actual SpaceX plan for it?

This is the ISS. Those white panels are *radiators.* Releasing heat is a serious challenge in space. A data center is basically a huge oven.
