The Great EV Shift: 90% of cars by 2030! 🚗⚡️ As BEV costs drop and charging networks expand, PHEVs will collapse from 2027 onwards—just a temporary stop-gap as LFP and sodium batteries dominate. Merry Christmas 🎄⚡

#Renewables kept scaling, batteries kept getting better, #lithium stayed essential, and #EV sales kept growing faster than expectations. #BESS growth next.

This isn’t ideology anymore — it’s momentum. Here’s to a cleaner, quieter, more resilient future taking shape in real time.

Coal isn’t coming back. Wanting it to is nostalgia for inefficiency and failure.

Coal gets crushed by solar, wind, grids, storage, geothermal & batteries on cost, speed, and scale. Even existing nuclear is cheaper to run.

This isn’t politics or ideology. Coal lost because it’s inferior. #solar

Australia’s 14.4 MWh battery-electric locomotives show electrification now reaching the hard stuff. Heavy rail, mining, ports — sectors once locked to diesel — are switching to batteries at scale. Lower emissions, lower fuel costs. This is the energy transition moving > cars to core infrastructure.

Fortescue Metals in Australia is deploying battery electric locomotives with world's largest land-mobile battery packs to reduce emissions.

The divide isn’t renewables vs fossil fuels — it’s timeframes.

The US is optimising a 20th-century grid. China is building for 22nd-century demand — for tomorrow’s technologies, not yesterday’s.

Electricity = the base layer of AI, automation, manufacturing & everything that follows. Capacity wins.

China added 500+ TWh of electricity in the past 12 months. Coal fell ~66 TWh.

#Solar delivered ~75% of net growth in both China and the U.S. over the same period.

The difference isn’t direction — it’s speed. China is growing ~4× faster.

Now #BESS is scaling, turning capacity into firm power.

EVs (NEVs) crossed 75M cumulative sales. Against ~1.6B cars globally, that’s ~5% of the fleet.

This is disruption in motion.

What comes next won’t be gradual. The world around us is about to change drastically — energy, transport, oil demand, supply chains.

Once S-curves tip, reality moves fast.⚡
December 18, 2025 at 11:55 AM
The real story isn’t “renewables are cheaper” — we already knew that. An 82% renewable grid breaks marginal pricing. Once wind, solar + batteries dominate, fossil generators stop setting peak prices. Scarcity rents collapse. Volatility dies.
That’s the system shock incumbents fear — not ideology. ⚡🔋
Electricity generation costs would be a third lower with 82% renewable grid, CSIRO says
Modelling suggests main electricity market could run almost entirely on renewables without increase in generation cost by 2050

Australia’s home battery program has been a remarkable success. ~160,000 batteries installed in just months — ~3.6 GWh of distributed storage added almost overnight. Households moved fast when economics aligned.

Uruguay showing energy realism. Dependent on oil imports, it dropped EV barriers to chase energy autonomy > market answered fast.

Nov ’25: 29.4% BEV vs 2.6% PHEV (TTM: 26.7% vs 1.6%).

Cheap renewables + Chinese BEVs + lithium & BESS crush ICE. Reality wins > markets go straight to BEV. ⚡🔋

Let this fact sink in: China is building more nuclear power than the rest of the world combined — and yet, all those reactors will still generate less electricity than the solar China installed in just the first half of this year.

This isn’t ideology. It’s scale, speed, and economics. ☀️⚡ #solar

This hit close. I was in Sydney and almost went to Bondi that afternoon. Ordinary moments shouldn’t turn into tragedies. I hate “thoughts and prayers.” What matters is love — for victims, families, locals, Jewish and Muslim communities alike. Compassion over politics. Take care everyone.

McKibben’s point is directionally right, even if simplified. Fossil fuels dominate global shipping ton-miles. Electrification + renewables don’t just cut CO₂ — they collapse fuel logistics chains. Energy becomes local. Trade shifts, ships don’t vanish — but power does.⚡ #disruption #EnergyTransition

Ukraine hit 39% BEV share in new car sales in Nov — in the middle of a war. Let that sink in. No hype: just policy (no EV VAT), cheap Chinese supply, and raw economics doing their thing. Add PHEVs and it’s 42% plug-in. This is what real transition looks like when barriers drop. ⚡🚗

Saying ICE will be “improved” & thriving after 2035 is comedy gold. It’s like promising a better fax machine in the age of quantum internet. EVs, batteries, AI-driven mobility are lapping the old tech & we’re still hearing bedtime stories about “high-efficiency combustion.” Cute. #EVs #FossilFail

If you’ve tracked lithium, EVs, AI, solar, China, batteries & renewables for two decades, nothing here is “unbelievable.” It’s the inevitable collision of S-curves, compounding trends and industrial scale. Not surprising — just timely. In truth, this is what the future has been signalling for years.

FSD = Fully Substantiated Doubts. Tesla’s new camera upgrade can only mean one thing: FSD was never achievable on the “future-proof” hardware they sold for nine years — not even HW4. Another cycle, another lie exposed. Doubts aren’t doubts anymore, they’re facts. I love their EVs, but ditch #TSLA.

Volvo’s right — laws and bans matter. When the EU wavers on 2035 and the US softens clean-car rules, they’re not helping legacy automakers; they’re slowing themselves while China accelerates. Regulation is the spine of every transition. Without it, the West bends. With it, it competes. ⚡🌍 #EVS #LFP
