its kind of funny that ai causes individuals to experience psychosis but has also has caused an industrial psychosis where instead of labor and material capitalists just throw all their money into a hole marked "delusion"

Honest to god the biggest scam in America right now is whatever Dem consultants are being paid
Durbin on whether Democrats can use reining in ICE in Chicago as a precondition to rein in the government says “can’t do that. It’s gotta be health care all the way.”

How would this work? These aren't even synonyms.
the fact that everyone says franchise instead of series nowadays is so insidious

Its just ultra libertarian twitter-pushing moderation onto users & away from the private company running the platform
Decentralizing and federating networks or whatever is something I should never have to know. I just want to log on and talk about McPizza, that's how these websites should work.

The language of non-consent around AI is really telling. "It's too late to be scared." "It's here whether we want it or not." "You'll have to learn to work with it." "You can't fight the inevitable."

All just variations of "you're not allowed to say no." Creepy technology made by creepy people.

If you say 'heteronormative' or 'unhoused person' or 'food insecurity' you're basically talking gibberish and nobody can understand you but if you say you can see inflammation in children at the airport and that vaccines lower IQ or that germs are a myth you get to fire all the scientists.

ChatGPT: you’re right. Let’s look at that again with the addition context that you are the avenging angel of God.

I don't actually think everyone's weird uncle & kooky aunt, whose brains got cooked by the Plandemic doc, have much economic sway. Why are we pretending this is anything beyond cranks being perpetually aggrieved online?

They've been doing this every day since "loose change" & the tea party.

There should honestly be a public push for every new york times tech journalist that hyped "AGI" to resign. Their blind hype led to c-suite decisions that cost other people their jobs. Seems only right that they should lose theirs.

It matters bc Third Way are amplifying a fake right wing version of my community that is constantly inventing new, overwrought terms and forcing them on everyone, against which Democrats need to push back.

They're doing this while more of our actual rights are being eroded by the day.

A lot of this is just “don’t use technical terms to talk about oppression and discrimination”, and maybe there’s simpler terms one might use, but it gives the impression that the list maker just wants Dems to not talk about those things at all.

This is precisely the sickness right here: "The Democratic Party should make fan fiction podcasts say 'woman' again."

How? Why? Do right-wing podcasts ever say anything untoward that Republicans should address?

Everything goes back to the myth that Dems are responsible for petty aesthetic gripes

Can we reflect on how elected Democrats haven't said "latinx" since 2021 and yet I still see two articles a week telling them to stop?

The evidence doesn't indicate that Dems using SJW jargon is a real problem — it's something the far right says to justify their actions.

It's clear from the full memo that Third Way has completely bought in to far-right myth that Democratic overreach is what's causing Republican radicalization.

I agree that Dems shouldn't say "inseminated person" but that because it's a fringe made-up term!

Mike's really getting to the heart of things with this.

Heck, I run a trans news site and, other than cisgender, I use the rest of these rarely if at all.
I actually agree that Democrats should refrain from using most of these. And they already do! When was the last time a Senator said 'heteronormative'?

The bigger problem is that orgs like Third Way are reinforcing this false, right-wing narrative. Dems can't stop doing something they're not doing!
Scoop: Third Way is circulating a memo, shared first with @playbookdc, featuring a new blacklist of words Dems shouldn’t use.
