We put together some of the worst chyrons from Fox News this week -- including graphics that label anti-ICE protesters "insurgents" and declare that “Dems [are] at war with America itself." I've threaded the highlights/lowlights below:

The incendiary and demonizing chyrons on Fox News evening programming regarding Minnesota, ICE, and protests
After Fox News pushed the Trump administration’s propaganda in its coverage of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent’s deadly January 7 shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis, the network has us...

One basic pattern here is that DHS officials are engaging in violence simply because they are irritated at citizens protesting them. There is no plausible threat of violence here. He just wants to inflict pain, and believes there will be no penalty for doing so.
Big clash this afternoon between DHS agents and protesters in a residential street in Minneapolis, following a DHS agent hitting another vehicle. Tear gas was deployed in people’s yards and agents pepper prayed people.

These numbers are not surprising to me having covered it, but it is stark seeing it laid out like this and I’m glad the Times put this together.

Just this week, someone told me they wished I would stop including the appointing president in stories, and I was like, “Not a chance.” This is why.
Trump's appellate judges have formed a nearly united phalanx to defend his agenda from legal challenges. How often they ruled for him in 2025:

Trump appointees: 92%
Other Republican appointees: 68%
Democratic appointees: 27%

It's so fucking convenient that they get to "fear for their lives" anytime they want to absolve themselves of anything and when we actually fear for our lives because of them and do anything a scared person would do it's justification for our death.

ICE has only existed since 2003. A Bush-era creation, it is a militarized federal secret police that has been imbued with the Supreme Court with the unconstitutional power to ignore the fourth amendment.

Abolishing it and salting the earth where it grew is the moderate stance.

I remember people saying Sandy Hook was the last stop re: gun control, that if it didn’t happen after that event then it never would, but now I’m wondering if it might have portended something much larger in US politics: That nobody with power intended to do much about anything anymore.

40 people (at least) died. It's the official policy of these newsrooms that Latin American lives aren't worth anything. Again, if you still pay for an NYT subscription I think you're trash.

These are the real victims of Trump's unending crimes, as always its everyday people.
The New York Times has just confirmed that 40 civilians died in President Trump's invasion.

This is one of the most dystopian aspects of our current moment. Not only are people able to bet on warcrimes, they are working to rig the bets.
This person went on a buying spree over the past 24 hours. Fresh wallet. Only existed since Dec 27th and has only bet on Venezuela-related markets.

More Dragon Quest bestiary creatures, from IV and V. In DQ, the "Beast" family includes bipedal, clothèd creatures with animal attributes; you have to be fairly human to be in the "Humanoid" family. I created the "Beastman" family to separate animal-people from more conventional animals.
