The average American apparently has no idea how much of a positive impact our world-class research had on public health & have no idea how much misery & death will result from its destruction. I'm so fucking livid every day at the median voter's ignorance that led to this colossal fuckup.
we have PrEP because of these monkey studies. animal welfare in medical research is extremely strictly limited and regulated to ensure ethical use. there is no replacement for these animal models in biomedical research.
EXCLUSIVE: CDC to end all monkey studies. Decision handed down by recent college grad and former DOGE employee who is now deputy chief of staff at the agency. Animals were being used in studies of HIV prevention. Some may be euthanized. My latest for @science.org

It is immensely disappointing that @rohitforatlanta.bsky.social lost his election, as I was hoping he would be the check on these unaccountable power structures that make a mockery of our entire NPU/neighborhood governance system.
Committee for Corporate Welfare - no oversight at all.
Atlanta Ctee for Progress & MACC never saw a corporate handout they didn't shill for.
Arthur Blank pockets $30M/yr of our hotel-motel tax & has 2 votes!
Invest Atlanta board members rarely look critically at TAD cost-effectiveness.
Just say No!
Siri, show me an “oversight” committee over a $ multibillion 30-year TAD/TIF extension that is dominated by key participants in #TheAtlantaWay.

Not one of these orgs has been a critic of Atlanta development policies. Only 2 are even neighborhood orgs & one of those was created by large corp’s. 1/2

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

I really hate when people say “Atlanta isn’t a real place” …this is mostly from sheltered suburbanites, people not used to living in cities or people not used to Atlanta, which has always been a place for Black people to be themselves

For those keeping track:

The government pursued charges against five people arrested outside the ICE facility in Broadview, IL during a protest there on Sept. 27.

As of today, all five of those cases have now been thrown out.
"Mr. Briggs, you're free to go. This case is dismissed," Fuentes says, banging his gavel.

And that's that, Fuentes off the bench.

It’s easy to see why AI slop is so prevalent because corporate life sucks bro. There is no reason to be creative they want you checking off boxes. Before AI it was just more manual slop at least automating checking off boxes might free some time to do literally anything else
