I hope people understand that if Trump gets his way America will soon be part of the global axis of evil if we aren't already. You see it in the Caribbean, you see it in Ukraine, and you see it with Trump trying to buddy up to Xi. We are a malevolent force.

Your voice is more powerful than threats from a weakening, unpopular president. If they hear enough from you now, legislators may still do the right thing.

Again, the illegality of firing on shipwrecked mariners is so absurdly well established that it is used in the manual training material as the example of an order *so obviously illegal* that no further information would be required for a servicemember to be obligated to refuse it.

I really don't know what else to write about these details we're getting.

These strikes were already illegal, but even if they were legal, the follow-up strike would still be murder and thus potentially a death penalty offense.

What else is there to say?

It's wild but not surprising that last week the White House was leaning into "these seditious Democrats dared suggest that troops were receiving illegal orders!!!" and this week they are scrambling to figure out who to blame for issuing illegal orders.

How to get rid of Citizens United?

We can do away with it without a new Supreme Court. Nor do we need a constitutional amendment.

There’s a far simpler way. Let me explain: https://robertreich.substack.com/p/how-to-get-rid-of-citizens-united

Trump shared a QAnon slogan—“the military is the only way”—and imagery calling for “military tribunals.” Combined with calling for the execution of Members of Congress, this is an extraordinary authoritarian escalation and a grave threat to constitutional rule.
