I don't know whether "narrowly tailored at removing foreign leaders" in reference to Iraq or "recent American history" in reference to either Panama or Iraq is doing a heavier lift here.

"Legally dubious strikes inside another country – even ones narrowly tailored at removing a foreign leaders – are hardly unheard of in recent American history. But even in that context, this one is remarkable," writes CNN's Aaron Blake | Analysis

So, has the WH announced the name of the former beauty queen lawyer who will be fucking up Maduro's prosecution?
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

People seem fuzzy on this, but it isn't a question of whether civilians will be hurt or killed by military operations...they will...it's a question of the lengths a military will go to prevent it. The DoD is bad at articulating this to civilians because a lot of DoD leaders also don't get this.
We have someone on the radio show who is currently in Venezuela:

*There were strikes on two cities other than Caracas

*No official casualty numbers but many people are injured

News: Gang of Eight in Congress were only notified about Trump's Venezuela operation after it began, source familiar tells me. That means the heads of the Intelligence Committees in Senate and House were *not* consulted. Just crazy.

what orders "the US military" will or won't follow is situational dependent and never a blanket answer

But JSOC (specifically DEVGRU, a certain TF at Bragg, and associated hangers-on) will *absolutely* follow orders to detain/otherwise do something to Dem pols, with the right made up predicate
The president's unaccountable assassination squad is now also an unaccountable kidnapping squad and dems can either plan to take action accordingly or be replaced by those who will
I'm not joking

Ah, good, so we can move directly on to the charges and trial, famously two of this administration's greatest strengths.

The members who did the "don't follow illegal orders" video absolutely need to immediately do a "hey these were the illegal orders we were talking about and participating in them can expect to face consequences to the fullest extent of the law" video
Uniformed military are involved in this shambolic behavior and they all need to be held to account

A primary goal of the discussion now on dragging dem pols to do the right thing has to be on widespread accountability and where appropriate prosecutions of significant numbers of servicemembers
Inexcusable shit.

On the one hand I trust Jim LaPorta's reporting, but on the other hand it's unlike this administration not to be crowing about a strike. I think Trump just found a remote in his nightstand, pushed the buttons and couldn't figure out what it did, so he went to bed. www.duffelblog.com/trump-warns-...

I won't speculate on Venezuela until we know more, other than to say 1. We can probably kiss our contingency basing agreement in Curacao goodbye, maybe Honduras too, and 2. While I have no knowledge of the operation's details, I think this administration could fuck up an ant farm in a sugar factory.

I never get tired of references to this, because they remind me of my efforts a few years ago to popularize the term "Tom Clancy problem" in a combatant command that shall remain nameless. So, what is a Tom Clancy problem?
