This is the dumbest fucking timeline.
Pickleball is full of annoying traits — the sound being one of them for many communities that live near courts.

Research suggests pickleball noise can actually impact health. Here’s how: https://wapo.st/4hG3sfx

#ICYMI: After paying for hotel rooms to shelter homeless people, Seattle deliberately left them vacant.

By the end of 2024, taxpayers were spending $4,200 a month per empty room at a time when thousands of residents were without a roof over their heads.

Seattle Spent Millions on Hotel Rooms to Shelter Unhoused People. Then It Stopped Filling Them.
Early last year, the city signed a $2.7 million lease extension to continue using a hotel’s rooms as shelter space. Yet despite committing to pay the rent, the city stopped sending people there.

Power conference? Sir, it's 2025.
What Old Dominion is doing to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg is inhumane. Just threw Drones on the ground to end the half up 28-0. One of the saddest scenes a power conference program has ever put on

And remember, prices don't just go up on their goods. It also increases prices on domestic substitutes, which can charge more with reduced competition.
Just so’s we’re all clear, almost 3/4 of everything we buy from Europe is now 15% more expensive.

*wow, that's weird... Why would such a Republican county be trying to subvert ICE enforcement?*

... It's not as if the wealth of the county is dependent upon migrant labor for the apple harvest. Surely that wouldn't be the reason.

This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)

Today at Sounders’ fan fest they mentioned that’s every game they make 600 tickets available for $19.74 and never sell out. I suspect that’s because no one knows about this. … now you do, be sure to share.

Well-meaning folks on Bluesky who dismiss sportsball as some kind of distraction to What Matters Now are missing a key point in creating an alternative to X: Sports for better or worse dominates American culture. You ignore enormous swaths of potential allies when you dismiss sports.
Since the NBA season ended last night, here's my self indulgent take on where Sports Bluesky is atm. The TLDR is that crappy Resistance accounts are working like antibodies to flush casual sports ppl off this platform and the devs should address this if they actually want sports to take off here.

That may be "why"... But the "how" is that there were no meaningful consequences for any of their actions up to that point.
They have made the world living hell for no reason whatsoever. People will ask why this happened in a decade and there will be tremendous effort to make it more complicated than “they were evil, stupid, and bored”

What kills me is that the Athletic used to be good. Vanini and Auerbach have such dogshit takes.
The College Football Playoff format can't change unless the Big Ten and SEC both agree to change it. And now the leagues are at odds.
